What is early intervention and who qualifies in the Tri-State Area?

Early intervention is a federally mandated program that provides developmental services to children from birth through age two years and eleven months who have a confirmed developmental delay or diagnosed condition. Early Intervention Tri-State Area services are available to eligible families in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut regardless of income or immigration status.

In most cases, early intervention services are provided at no cost to families. Each state has its own program and funding structure. Our Early Intervention Tri-State Area team will walk you through eligibility and costs from the start so there are no surprises.

You can self-refer or ask your child’s pediatrician to submit a referral to your state’s early intervention program. Our Early Intervention Tri-State Area team can also guide you through the referral process in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut if you are unsure where to start.

 

Early Intervention Tri-State Area sessions are delivered in natural environments, which means your home, daycare, or community setting. We serve families across all five NYC boroughs, northern and central New Jersey, and Fairfield County and New Haven County in Connecticut.

 

Depending on your child’s IFSP, services can include speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, special instruction, feeding therapy, and service coordination. All services are delivered by our licensed Early Intervention Tri-State Area specialists.
